This local golf facility features indoor and outdoor practice driving ranges, an executive golf course and indoor putt-putt for the family. World of Golf often hosts local community events and tournaments.
This is a great place to host a birthday party for the golf enthusiast in your life, and they teach golf classes for kids and young adults as well. This is a terrific place for a family outing on a rainy weekend. Complete with mini golf and a putting range, there’s something for everyone.
Home to the local minor league baseball team, Florence Freedom offers classic, American family fun. The venue offers inexpensive ballpark food and a children’s play area (safely away from the game watching area).
Locals rave about the live entertainment between innings, and even on non-game nights, the ballpark is busy! Florence Freedom often hosts fireworks shows and “Picnic on the Park” events.
Kentucky is renowned for its horseracing, and every proud Bluegrass city has its own racetrack. Florence is no exception. Turfway Park is a Thoroughbred racetrack that offers live racing in the winter and early spring months, and simulcast wagering all year.
Turfway is a staple of Florence’s local culture, and if you’ve never been before, definitely make the trip out to the racetrack with some friends and family!
Florence Antique Mall
For the collector of vintages in your family, the Florence Antique Mall is a hub of activity with beautiful merchandise to be discovered. The mall is so sprawling, it can take hours to work your way through all the booths, and everything is well displayed and reasonably priced with the fanatic collector in mind.
The antique mall is open seven days a week and features a café onsite. If you frequent the mall often, you can find good deals and familiarize yourself with the vendors’ specialties.
On the opposite end of the spectrum from the Antique Mall, you can go for a kart race at XhilaRacing right here in Florence! The kart track here is full of twists and curves, making it one of the harder races. If you’re up for the challenge, you and your friends can choose the high performance track, which allows speeds up to 45 mph. For thrill seekers ages 8 to 15, track speeds are available up to 25 mph.
XhilaRacing hosts birthday parties for kids and adults alike, as well as other organized events. Even on a rainy day, you can take advantage of the indoor racing scene, right in town!
